Takin it to the Streets- What Rockstar
would you be?
For the last ten years I have been on the streets
of Las Vegas working behind the scenes of our local
music biz. Chances are, if you have gotten a flyer
for a concert, it has come from me or someone on my
team. While we are out and about, we get to hear about
a lot of cool stuff. This time around I wanted to
know if you could be any rockstar who would you be
and why? Here is what you had to say…

If I could be any rockstar... I would have to be
Gwen Stephani from No Doubt... I am platnium blonde
like her... I love her songs... and if they were still
doing that show on MTV I would totally go on there
just to be made up like Gwen Stephani... SHE IS MY
IDOL!

”If I could be any rockstar I'd be...Dave Grohl,
He's the singer for the greatest band ever(Foo Fighters),
he was the drummer one of the most famous bands of
all time(Nirvana). He is literally the last of the
true rock stars and he's the ultimate front man. He
does it all and is amazing at it all or Travis Barker,
he's made a name for himself even though be plays
an instrument that usually never stands out(drums).”

“If I could be any rockstar I would have to
be..Alice Cooper.I mean the man is like 60 and he
still does concerts and he involves his whole family
in shows and stuff. It's really cool, if I were famous
I'd want to be like him..and I bet he has a shitload
of money since he's been in the business since the
'60s. And he has some prettier good songs.”

If I could be any rockstar I would be Agent M from
Tsunami Bomb. Why? Because the woman has a magnificent
set of pipes on her and a hot face to add to that.
Any woman who is willing to scream her lungs out against
what annoys her and then sing beautifully and look
good doing it, yeah. Amazing!

”If I could be any 'rockstar', I would be Pete
Wentz, the bassist from Fall Out Boy. Let's not go
as far as calling him a rockstar... more like my idol.
Anyways... why would I want to be him? Wentz is an
amazing person, and a great writer. I'm talking beyond
the lyrics. His book (The Boy With The Thorn In His
Side) blew me away when I read it, and continues to
do so each time I pick it up and read it again. It
reads to me like some sort of adored fairytale a child
would love to get their hands on every night before
bed. His words speak to me on so many different levels,
and I just wish I had the same tact that he does.
He's such a deep thinker, yet he has time to take
out to be himself and goof off.”

”I would be Dustin from Thrice. I've seen thrice
at least 5 or 6 times. Besides being extremely intelligent
and articulate; the guy puts on a very energetic show!
I would want to be the lead singer of thrice for the
fame; the fame of an excellent band, who's not corrupted
by the "scene", puts on a great performance,
and writes feelings into words with a skill most people
could only wish to obtain in a lifetime.”

“If I had the chance to be any rock star, it
would have to be either David Bowie or Madonna. They
both completely turned the tables when it came to
their sexuality and made some people think, scared
the shit out of others, yet they weren't ashamed of
who they were. They didn't care who they offended,
because they had something to say, and no one was
going to take their voice away. David Bowie, for example,
made androgyny and bisexuality cool. Madonna owned
her womanhood and her sexuality, and dominated a then
male-dominated music era. These two are GENIUSES,
music Gods, revolutionized the music industry.

“When I was a kid, I wanted to be Jonny Rotten.
I always liked the way European punks dressed and
spit and kicked holes in peoples shit. Especially
Rotten. I loved the lyrics. I loved how I could imagine
a time when People got beat up by bikers for wearing
spiked bracelets and orange hair. The fact that the
band [Sex Pistols] only had ONE real record and still
managed to become the biggest punk rock band ever
to live. Even my mom knows who Jonny Rotten is. After
reading his book when I was about 17, I realized that
everything that had been told about the man in movies
and TV was all a bullshit lie that was made up by
the bands manager. I think it's funny that a case
of spinal meningitis at 9 was responsible for his
"PUNK ROCK" snarley stare. He dealt with
his condition for a year. He should be dead. He lost
his memory and had to Re-learn everything he had known.”
